Before making your event tickets

Collect all the information you want on your tickets

This will make it much easier as you proceed and give you a good idea of what exactly it is that you are looking for in your ticket printing endeavor.

Ticket information to include:

  • Event title information
  • Time, date, and location
  • Ticket price and number of tickets needed
  • Artwork or logos

Three ways to easily and quickly create tickets for an event

1. Design and print event tickets using an online template

Many ticket printing sites (including our own) offer pre-designed, customizable ticket templates. Once you find a template that fits your needs, you can personalize it with your event’s text and sometimes even upload images or logos.

The advantages of these pre-designed tickets are that they are less expensive than custom tickets and turn around is quicker. Plus, you’re able to see and approve the proof of your ticket immediately.

2. Have custom tickets designed and printed by a professional for your event

Companies such as ours are more than willing to help you design tickets for your event. When you have your tickets custom-designed, you’ll talk directly to a person who will ask you about your event and what you’d like the tickets to look like. They will then create a ticket proof that you can approve before the tickets are printed.

Custom-designed tickets take longer than pre-designed templates because of the additional design time, which averages 3 days to 1 week. They are also slightly more expensive due to the fact that you’re paying for more human interaction in the process. The cost is worth it, though when you want a great-looking, one-of-a-kind ticket that matches your event exactly.

Printing tickets is possible with programs currently installed on your computer if you don’t need any variable data, such as a ticket number or reserved seating. However, it’s much easier to use a program specifically designed to print tickets. Most ticket editors have an easy-to-use interface that will allow you to drag and drop text, images, numbers, and other items onto your tickets. You can also buy pre-perforated ticket stock that is safe to use in any home or office printer, providing a professional feel to your tickets.

This option is great if you know what you want your ticket to look like and trust your artistic ability. The downside is that it often takes a fair amount of time to print the tickets and then separate them from the sheet that they are printed in.

There is no right or wrong way to have your tickets printed, but you will find that one of these options probably will fit you and your organization more than the others. Once you decide how to have your tickets printed, you’ll be able to check event ticket creation off your list!
